Marvin L. Clark, 86, of Roanoke died Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born January 9, 1931 a son of the late Sydney L. and Lucy M. Clark. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son and daughter, Scott and Rebecca Clark; brothers, Richard, Jim and Bill Clark; sisters, Ivy, Faye, Nancy, Carrie, Ada and Viola.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Clark; children, Allen L. Clark (Carol), Karen Newcomb (Mike); sisters, Mildred “Polly” Flora, Joyce Young (Will); granddaughters, Joy Pohlman (Jeremy) and Leslie Fitzgerald (Brian); 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to LOA Meals on Wheels, 3520 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019.

The family would like to thank all the church families for the prayers during Marvin’s illness. Also, Heartland Hospice and the staff at Avante Nursing Home for the care and support.

A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held 2 PM, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke with Pastor Zach Doppelt and Pastor Jeremy Pohlman officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
