Tracy Walter Burns

November 25, 1959 ~ April 27, 2023 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Tribute

It is with profound grief and a heavy heart that I share the news of my daddy’s passing.
Tracy Walter Burns has gone on to his forever home!
Tracy was born and raised in Liberty New York on November 25th to
Madison (Bob) Honaker and Leona Mary Honaker.
After a short but difficult battle with pancreatic/breast cancer he succumbed to his illness on April 27, 2023, Tracy went peacefully at home in his sleep.

Tracy is survived by his four daughters, Ramona Underwood, Tracey Burns, Jolene Burns & Jewell Gambrell; 2 brothers, John Honaker & Billy (Bones) Honaker; 2 sisters, Hila Burns &
Bobbie Schaefer; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews all of Roanoke, VA.
He also had lots of extended family outside of Roanoke VA.

Tracy was predeceased by his father, mother and four brothers, James Dean, Richard, Robert Madison & Mark Edward Honaker;
2 Grandsons, Eddie Allen Overton & Clinton Moore.

Early on Tracy dabbled in the amateur middleweight golden gloves boxing franchise, which he did enjoy but it didn’t really pay the bills so that adventure was short lived. He then became (what he liked to refer to himself as) a backyard mechanic. His only training came in the form of experiential learning with a lot of mistakes, but the successes outweighed by far. That backyard mechanic with very minimal education became a very sought after mechanic who held an ASE Certification from Radford University. Tracy spent the majority of his career working on fuel powered automobiles but about 3 years ago he changed things up a bit and went into the world of diesel. He spent his last 2 years in the workforce at Howell’s Motor Freight of Hollins VA.
Tracy spent his free time with family and friends, after a long hard day at work he enjoyed meeting a few buddies out for a couple drinks or 10. Lol. But it was the time he spent on his bike that he lived for; sun shining down upon him, the wind in his face, no destination in mind, just him and the open road!
