Warriner Lawton

Thomas "Warriner" Lawton passed away suddenly on February 14, 2019 at the age of 45.
 
He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Evan; father, Robby Lawton; mother, Lynda Preas and her husband, Jim; brother, Bert; and grandmother, Shirley Hudgins.  He is also survived by his uncle, Ricky Lawton; aunts, "Dee-Dee" Shue and Kathy York; and aunt and uncle extraordinaire, Jennifer and Ronnie Byrd.  His nieces Erin Lawton, Sydney Johnston, nephew Matthew Lawton and cousins Alex Lawton and Chandler Cochenour also survive him along with special neighbor and friend, Jeannie Schilgen. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lucille Eades Rowsey, grandfather, Parsha "Bobo" Hudgins, and cousins, Timothy "Randy" and Tina Sarver.

Warriner graduated from Patrick Henry High School and served in the United States Air Force.  He worked in the construction industry.  His son, Evan, was the pride and joy of his life.  No father ever played harder with a son than Warriner, they were more like two kids, only one was bigger than the other.  Warriner loved being outdoors, was an excellent marksman, and time spent at the river property in Rockbridge County were treasured memories.  He knew his way around a kitchen, food was a true pleasure. If someone was in need and he could help, he was your man, always pushing to please.

We are all so devastated but your big, tall presence will be with us always.  Rest in peace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 20, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke.  A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home Roanoke Chapel with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
