Mr. Matthew Wayne Anderson

Matthew “Matt” Wayne Anderson, 52, of Roanoke passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. He is preceded in death by his custodial guardians, James L. Payne and Dora P. Payne.

Surviving are his father, Michael L. Anderson, Sr.; mother, Carolyn Ann Gordon; brother and sister, Michael Anderson, Jr. and Carolyn Ann Maynard and husband, John E. Maynard, Jr. “Vince”; nephew, John E. Maynard, III “John John” and wife, Taylor; great-nephews, John E. Maynard, IV “Johnny” and Benjamin Wyatt “Little Wyatt”; special cousin, Tony Lowery; The Gang, George Minter, Mike Womack, Shawn Meldrum, Don Haymaker, Trincy Walker and Aaron Walker; numerous other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the Critical Care Unit 10th floor at Carilion Roanoke Memorial for all the care and support they gave Matt.

A graveside service celebrating Matt’s life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Evergreen Burial Park with Pastor Brian Geiser officiating.
