Jack Lawrence Rogers, 67, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter C. Rogers, Sr. and Cherrie Sunya Wright Rogers. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles “Roy” Eugene Rogers.
Surviving him are his wife of 28 years, Alice L. Rogers; daughters, Brandi-Lynn Rogers Cook and husband, Chris, Faye Cherrie Rogers and fiancé, Keagan Nexus-Clay Harmon and Sunya M. Rogers; brothers, Walter “Clinton” Rogers, Jr. and David Rogers; sisters-in-law, Dianne Proctor and husband, Tommy, Patricia Singley and Juanita Lott; special friends, Tim Hayes, Mike Alley and David Cagle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his fur babies, Pepper and Bo.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked at Hooker Furniture and Chervan Furniture for 20+ years. He was an outdoorsman and would spend his spare time hunting and fishing. He was a Philadelphia Eagles fan and a huge cat lover. He enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach. Many will remember him for his sense of humor and his ability to make anyone laugh. His greatest accomplishment in life was his daughters who he loved very much.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, Virginia 24084 with Pastor Jeffery Gardner officiating.
