Mrs. Helen Louise Bird

Helen Louise Bird, 99, of Roanoke died Tuesday, January 4, 2022. She was a daughter of the late Harry Fisher and Florence Ada Huckbee. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Bird; a son, Alfred Johnson; and a grand-daughter, Vanessa Worth.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Monica NaKagawa and her husband, Patrick; great-grandchildren, Ripley and Grayson; special nieces, Ruth Raby, Sandra Alcorn and Carolyn Gordon.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held 11 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke with Pastor Melton Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service. A graveside service will be held 11am, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
