Mrs.Evelyn Marie Cole

Evelyn Marie Cole 94 of Buchanan Virginia was called home to the Lord Wednesday February 8th 2023. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers, 2 sisters, her son Johnathan, her daughter Karen and her grandson Elijah.

She was survived by her beloved husband of 73 years Delford Cole, her  sister Starlena, brother Clifford, son Phillip and wife Renita Cole,  Grandchildren Dylan and wife Jessica Cole, Matthew Cole, Ian Shank, Dustin Lewis, Dakota and wife Angie Lewis, Amanda Lewis, and Melissa Lewis. She also is survived by 11 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was known for spreading her faith to everyone she encountered and making sure they knew just how much they were loved by her as well as God. She attended Living Water Christian Church at Northside,  formally Christ's Church at Northside.  She was also recognized by the president as well as the Who's Who of America in women's business in regards to her daycare "Evelyn's Home Away From Home" that helped mold a few generations in the grandin area over the years until retiring in 2005. Evelyn will be missed dearly but I hope we can all agree that she was greeted in heaven the same way she answered those calls..."Praise the Lord, Hello!"... she's home y'all! 
Virginia's Community Colleges Alumni

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11 following the visitation with Pastor Paul Hatfield, Jim Foringer and Terry Cole officiating.

Burial is planned for Saturday, February 18th at 11:00 am at Old Alvon Methodist Church Cemetery, 9802 Pocahontas Trail, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia 24986.
