Mrs Dalene Barbara Page Mullen Hyatt
February 22, 1938 ~ October 3, 2019 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Dalene Barbara Page Mullen Hyatt February 22, 1938 – October 3, 2019
Born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia, Dalene shared joy and love with many people. Her parents, Jack and Odell Mullen, held a special place in her heart. She was the second of four Mullen children and shared many wonderful childhood memories with her siblings: Bertrand, Frank, and Becky. Dalene valued education and attended both Roanoke College and Mississippi College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Education. She then continued her education at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas where she met her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Franklin Hyatt, better known as R.F. Dalene worked various jobs including substitute teaching and secretary at the Rescue Mission. Following the birth of daughter, Lorisa Ann, Dalene chose to be a stay-at-home wife and mother, dedicating her life to family. She cherished her three Granddaughters, Tiffany, Rachel, and Katherine, showering them with numerous treats and special memories. Her love and support were evident as she attended each performance, holiday, birthday, and momentous event for the girls. Dalene prioritized her faith in Jesus Christ and served in many areas within the church, sharing her knowledge of the Bible through teaching Sunday School, working as a Bible School instructor, and enjoyed being part of the church choir. She always knew how to throw the perfect party and add a special touch of thoughtfulness to each detail. Her love for crafting was a constant encouragement to each person who received a loved filled package. Each of these characteristics and more played a substantial part in creating the remarkable woman we will always remember and whose character will continue to influence each person her path has crossed.
