Arlie Edward “Ed “Kimberlin, (75), of Roanoke , Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Garden City, Virginia. Ed was born on September 2, 1945 to the late Arlie and Dorothy Kimberlin.

Ed served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He returned home and worked approximately 32 years for Ingersoll-Rand, where he retired at the age of 55. After retirement, he continued to work as a handy-man and landscaper for Alleghany Regional Hospital. In his spare time you could find him on a creek bank or lake fishing. He enjoyed riding the parkway. He also enjoyed traveling to the coast and to the mountains with his wife and friends, and spending time with his grandkids.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Pamela (Pam) Benois Kimberlin, daughter Tina Kimberlin Jones of Gordo, Alabama, his three grandchildren Jordan Jones, Hunter Jones, and Brady Jones of Gordo, Alabama, his brothers Willie Kimberlin (Wanda Huff) of Eagle Rock, Virginia and Robert Kimberlin (Leanne) of Rockvale, Tennessee, his many nieces and nephews and a very dear and special friend Darian Monard who unselfishly donated his kidney “Larry” on October 25, 2012.

In lieu of flowers the family ask any memorial donations be made to Bible Baptist Church 2929 Garden City Blvd SE, Roanoke, Virginia 24014.

A celebration of Arlie’s life will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 11 to 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Lone Star Church Cemetery, 6102 Potts Creek Rd. Covington, VA.
