David Ronnie Hodges, 67, of Franklin County went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, July 29, 2017. He was born September 14, 1949 a son of the late George W. Hodges and Mildred L. Radford. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife and soulmate of 39 years, Carmen Delilah Hodges; sister, Brenda Koger; brothers-in-law, Clifford “PeeWee” Ledbetter and Jessie Wray; special uncle, Hensel Hodges.

Surviving him are his daughters, Betty H. Cundiff and husband, Doug and Sharon Barbour and fiancé, Justin Bowman; brothers and sisters, Melvin “Doc” Hodges (Susan), Danny Hodges (Janis), Annette Hodges and Rita McNeal (Jamie); grandchildren, David Perdue, Seth and Jace Cundiff; special aunt, Jane Hodges and all her children; his porch swing buddy, Russell Simpkins and son, Tyler; 3 brothers-in-law; 2 sisters-in-law; his fur babies, Lucy, Minnie and Daisy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Glade Hill Baptist Church, 6627 Colonial Tpk. Glade Hill, Va. 24092. A celebration of David’s life will be conducted 11 am, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Glade Hill Baptist Church with Pastor David Long officiating. Burial will be private.
