Bud went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 3, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents, Jimmy and Lizzie Chisom; two brothers, Harry and Lynford Chisom; sister, Ethel Atkins. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church and a retired Captain at Roanoke City Fire Department with 35 years of service. Bud was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed his years at the fire department, singing in the church choir, boating and skiing at the lake.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Frances Fitzgerald Chisom; two daughters, Margaret “Maggie” Christenson and husband, Bob, Rose Kiser and husband, Randy; granddaughter, Christy Conner and husband, Curtis; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Simpson, Ruby Kelley, Edith Fisher and Alice Aliff.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 5, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM, at Lotz Funeral Home-Roanoke, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke. A Celebration of “Bud’s” life will be 1 pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Lotz Funeral Home-Roanoke with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Burial Park.
