Mrs. Betty H. Cundiff FSL

Managing Partner

Betty H. Cundiff began working at Lotz and Rader Funeral Homes in 2000 as a funeral service intern. She then attended John Tyler Community College and graduated from their Funeral Service Program in 2005. Betty is a member of Living Waters Assembly of God Church. Betty, her husband Doug, and their three children, David, Seth and Jace, live in Franklin County. She loves to spend time with her family and going to baseball games.

Rev. Carter Sloan

Pastor & Ambassador

Rev. Carter Sloan is a funeral assistant for Lotz Funeral Homes, Inc. He was born in Franklin County, Virginia and is married to Lorita N. Sloan. He received a Bachelor of Divinity Degree in May 1964 from Bible Baptist Seminary in Arlington, Texas and attended the American Language Institute in Belem, Brazil. Rev. Sloan had been the associate pastor with Fellowship Baptist Church for 27 years and the associate pastor with New Hope Baptist Church for several years. He has a son and daughter-in-law, David Lee Sloan and his wife Michelle Hamlet, and a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn. Rev. Sloan feels that his work in the funeral home is an extension of his ministry. In the years of his church work (over 29 years in Roanoke), he has had the opportunity to work with many of his church families and other families and believes this is a way to minister to people at a time of need in their lives. Lotz is very fortunate to have Rev. Sloan at the heart of their team.

Ms. Joan Lam

Housekeeping Services

Joan Lam is the Housekeeper for Lotz Funeral Homes, Inc. She began working for Lotz when she was in high school and took off a few years to raise her kids before returning to work. She was born in Australia. She has three children, Jeanette, Jeffrey and Jennifer. Joan keeps all three Lotz Funeral Homes and Rader Funeral Home clean for each family we serve. Her delightful personality and sense of humor always makes us smile.

Ms. Jill Anderson

Ambassador

A child of missionaries, Jill Anderson grew up in West Africa. She attended Taylor University in Indiana and is a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Education from Huntington College in Indiana. After graduating, she taught school in Liberia, West Africa and Indiana before moving to Roanoke in 1989.

Jill currently works full-time in the flooring industry at Fashion Floors of Roanoke. She is an active member of Hollins Road Baptist Church and volunteers at Straight Street. She has a daughter, Julie Lena, who is a physician's assistant at Doctor's Express in Roanoke, and one granddaughter.

Jill enjoys ministering to the families at Lotz Funeral Home and tending to each family's needs.

Mr. David Perdue

David graduated from Franklin County High School in 2016.  He is a full-time student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to the gym.  David has been a member of the Lotz and Rader Funeral Homes staff since 2014.
